DCSO Reserves Safety Spots for Craigslist Transactions
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has four parking spots marked for deals made through online sites or the local newspaper.

If you’re looking to buy or sell something through an online advertisement, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has the place for you.
Four places, in fact.
The agency announced Tuesday that four spots at the DCSO parking lot at 8470 Earl D. Lee Boulevard are now designated for transactions involving deals made through online sites like Craigslist, or the local newspaper.

The move is aimed at addressing safety concerns that come with completing a sale with a buyer or seller you’ve never met face to face.
All four spots have blue and white “reserved” signs.

The designated parking spaces are located in our parking lot at 8470 Earl D. Lee Boulevard in the first section of parking spaces on the right as you are coming into our main entrance. We recommend that you please arrange all meetings during daylight hours.
Once you arrive and if needed you may contact our communications division at 770-949-5656 and notify them that you are conducting an online sales transaction and if you would like a deputy present to observe your transaction we will have one meet with you as soon as possible.
Please remember that the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and employees are only providing a safe place for citizens to conduct online sale transactions and is EXEMPT from all liability of any sales transactions.
