DCSO Seeks People of Interest in Sweetwater Creek Break-Ins (Updated)

Several vehicles at Sweetwater Creek State Park were broken into on Jan. 1.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office wants to speak to two people in connection with several car break-ins reported at Sweetwater Creek State Park near Lithia Springs.

The office released an image of the two people — a man and woman — but stressed that they “may or may not be involved” in five break-ins between mid-morning and mid-afternoon on Jan. 1. At this point, investigators want to talk to them.

The sheriff’s office said in a press release that thieves went through passenger side windows on the vehicles,and stoled numerous items, including credit and debit cards and checking account information.

“This is an isolated incident at this time. There are crews working through out metro Atlanta and these incidents are sporadic in several jurisdictions,” the press release stated. “Please remember that when leaving your car anywhere that you secure all valuables out of plain sight before leaving your vehicle parked somewhere. Also, be aware of your surroundings and if you see someone or something suspicious when parking your vehicle please call local law enforcement.”

Persons of Interest Sought in Sweetwater Park Entering Autos Case.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information regarding two persons of interest. Several vehicles at Sweetwater Creek State Park were broken into on the afternoon on January 1, 2015. These two individuals may or may not have been involved in the entering autos. However, our investigators would still like to talk to them.
