Debra Leigh Mitchell Scott, age 55, of Flintstone, GA, formerly of Douglasville, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014. She was born on August 23, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of John Thomas Mitchell, Jr. and Elaine Redding Lambert. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Flintstone, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Gregory Mitchell.

Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Glenn Edward Scott, of Flintstone; mother, Elaine Lambert of Winston; father and step-mother, John Thomas “J.T.” and Janice Mitchell of Douglasville; sons, Chris Pressley and Scott Pressley, both of Douglasville; sisters, Barbara Mitchell, and partner Sarah Smith, of Columbia, S.C., Lori (Tommy) Jones of Winston, Melissa (Randy) Doss of Villa Rica, Darlene (Kurt) Collom of California; brother and sister-in-law, John T. Mitchell, III and wife, Meredith, of Winston; 3 grandchildren; step-sister, Dana Henry, and husband Kyle; step-brother, David Mitchell of Alabama.

Funeral Services were held Monday, October 13, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville with Brother Eugene McBrayer officiating. Interment was scheduled in Crestlawn Memorial Park in Atlanta at 1:00 P.M. with Brother Josh Hollifield officiating.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 5:00 - 9:00 P.M.
