Donate Blood Feb. 15 At The Douglasville Police Department
There is no deferral time if a person received the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The American Red Cross will be taking blood donations and testing for COVID-19 antibodies at the Douglasville Police Department's community room, 2083 Fairburn Rd., on Feb. 15 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Plasma from whole blood donations that test positive for COVID-19 antibodies may help current coronavirus patients in need of convalescent plasma transfusions, the organization noted.
According to the Red Cross, the organization is following FDA blood donation eligibility guidelines for prospective donors who receive a COVID-19 vaccination, which may require deferral times depending upon the type of vaccine a donor received. There is no deferral time if a person received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.
