Douglas County Athletic Director Honored As Region’s Top Leader

The Georgia Athletic Directors Association has named Coach Albert Lindsey as 6A Region 5 Athletic Director of the Year.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA —The Georgia Athletic Directors Association has named Coach Albert Lindsey as 6A Region 5 Athletic Director of the Year. Athletic Directors from across the state selected Lindsey for this significant recognition. Lindsey traveled to Savannah and received the award last weekend during the annual Georgia Athletic Directors Association Conference. This is the second straight year a Douglas County Athletic Director earned the distinction. Alexander High School Athletic Director Principal Chris Small earned the honor last year.

Since 2015, Coach Lindsey served as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Douglas County High School. Coach Lindsey has also taught at Lithia Springs High School and Stewart Middle School. Throughout his career, Lindsey has coached football, basketball, soccer, track, softball, and tennis.

This year the Douglas County Tigers have enjoyed extraordinary success. The football team made it to the second round of the state playoffs, while the girls and boys basketball teams advanced to postseason play.
