Douglas County Disc Golf Course Set To Open In May
Douglas County's new disk golf course is progressing according to plan and is set to be ready in May.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Douglas County's new disk golf course is progressing according to plan and is set to be ready in May.
"Our department of parks and recreation is diligently working on completing the disc golf course at the Dog River Library, said Rick Martin, director of communications and community relations. "We have a projected completion deadline of May 2018.
"We have the areas fairly clean, with some chipping to do," he said. "The tee pads are in along with eight of the benches that a Boy Scout built for us and installed as an Eagle Project. Next, we will be building a small bridge, at hole 5, and putting in the 18 hole baskets. We'll be putting in hole numbers with footage and completing construction of some type of starting point with benches, flowers, etc."
