Internal promotions are a normal function of the Department and usually occur to replace vacancies caused by retirements and resignations. It is important to keep the Chain of Command intact in emergency services so that all responsibilities are known and filled. To achieve a promotion, all personnel must meet service time and certification requirements, including written and practical examinations, assessments, and Command Staff interviews.

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners extends their congratulations to the firefighters for the hard work and dedication they provide to the citizens of Douglas County.
