Douglas County Kindergarten Registration Info Released
Douglas County parents can register their children for kindergarten classes starting May 1 or at local roundups on Thursday, May 11.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The days when Douglas County parents can start registering their children for next year's kindergarten classes have been announced.
Beginning May 1, parents and guardians may register their upcoming kindergarten students at the Murray Educational Center (Central Registration) located at 4841 Highway 5 — the former Bill Arp Elementary School site.
Kindergarten registration will be available Monday-Friday, from 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m.

Douglas County elementary schools will be hosting a Kindergarten Roundup for the coming school year on Thursday, May 11.
During the roundup, parents will have the opportunity to register their upcoming kindergartners at the school located in their attendance area. School assignment is based on the address of the parent or guardian's legal residence.

Parents should contact the school in their attendance area for exact registration times, according to county education officials.
Georgia law requires kindergarten students to be five years old on or before September 1.
The following documents will be needed in order to register a child in the Douglas County School System:
- Birth certificate
- Georgia immunization form 3231 (marked complete for school attendance)
- Georgia Hearing, Dental, Vision, BMI Screening Form 3300 (all boxes completed)
- Social Security card or waiver
- Parent or guardian's photo ID
- custody or guardianship papers — if applicable
- Proof of residence. (If you rent, a current lease and current utility or connection receipt from the last 30 days is required. If you own, a current mortgage statement or tax bill and utility or connection receipt from the last 30 days is required.)
- Multi-residence form — if living with family or friends, signed by owner or leasee and notarized
Parents should check with their doctor or the local health department to complete and update the immunization record for their child. It is required that a student's immunization is in 100 percent compliance.
Parents and guardians who come with completed forms and required documentation are expected to move quickly through the registration process. Parents may call 770-651-2050 with any questions.
