Douglas County Landfill Rates Increase
The increase in fees to use the landfills is the first in 12 years in the county, officials said.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Fees to use Douglas County's landfills will increase on Oct. 1 — the first time they've gone up in 12 years.
The county-owned Cedar Mountain Landfill and Camp Road Transfer Station are funded entirely by user fees, not tax dollars. The fund for their operation, including employee salaries and equipment purchases, is overseen by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners.
Earlier this month, commissioners approved a rate increase for using the facilities. It was the first rate increase since 2005.
