Douglas County Man Charged With Child Molestation

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA—A Douglas County man is in jail and charged with multiple counts of child molestation, according to deputies. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office made the announcement Thursday.

Investigators with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office say they recently traveled to York County, S.C. to pursue leads on 37-year-old Abraham Hardy.

With the assistance of the York County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County investigators say they were able to secure search warrants for a residence on Kelly Road, where they recovered an "overwhelming amount of evidence," they say.

Hardy, formerly of MacDuff Drive in Douglasville, was eventually arrested on multiple counts of aggravated child molestation and other charges originating in Douglas County.

Jail records show that Hardy was formly booked into the Douglas County detention center on Jan. 22. As of Thursday, a judge has not set bond on the charges.
