Douglas County Sheriff's Office Warns Of Phone Scam

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a new phone scam telling residents they have a warrant out for their arrest.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA – The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a new phone scam telling residents they have a warrant out for their arrest.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a man has been calling people saying that he is with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and is identifying himself as Jonathan Walker. The phone number that appears on caller ID when he calls is 770-942-2121.

The caller has been leaving messages saying that the person he is calling has FTA warrants, the sheriff's office said.

"We do not have a Jonathan Walker on staff in any capacity," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office will not call and demand money to clear a warrant.

If you have received one of these calls, do not send money to anyone in cash or pre-paid card form, the sheriff's office warned.
