The Douglasville Independence Day Parade and Celebration July 4th will include a festival at Hunter Park and fireworks.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The City of Douglasville Independence Day Parade & Celebration July 4th will include a festival at Hunter Park and fireworks, including a great viewing event at Arbor Place Mall.
On Wednesday, a 40 percent chance for rain kicks in at about 9 a.m. and lasts all day. Wednesday night's low is expected to be around 73 under partly cloudy skies. We'll have that same 40 percent chance after dark, so keep an eye on the latest forecasts. Thursday, though, that chance will jump up to 50 percent, the National Weather Service says.

Schedule of Events:
10 a.m. - Parade down Church Street to Selman Drive
11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Festival at Hunter Park , located at 8830 Gurley Road. The festival at the park will have food, fun, and live entertainment for the entire family. A $5 kids zone will feature inflatables and a game truck. Arts and crafts and campaign booths will be on-hand. A barbecue lunch will be provided by American Legion Post 145 for $8.
Dusk - Fireworks sponsored by GreyStone Power and Gas South. Fireworks are shot from Hunter Park and can be seen all throughout the community but many say the mall parking lot is the best place to see them.

Arbor Place Mall Fireworks viewing
Enjoy the City of Douglasville fireworks show from the Arbor Place parking lot and give back to your community through a canned food donation.
Bring a canned food donation in return for parking in the mall parking lot. All donations will be collected by Crossroads Church and distributed back into the community to those in need. Be sure to bring your appetite!

Parade registration. It's not too late!
Download a parade registration packet, that contains all the information you'll need, or email whitedj@douglasvillega.gov, or call 678-715-6094 to have one sent to you. The parade entry fee is $45 per space.
Registration form and fee must be received by 12 o’clock noon on July 3. Plaques will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in float competition.
