Douglasville Man, Found Incoherent, Charged With Abandoning Stepson, 5, in Hot Parked Car
Report: Witnesses rescued boy from car that had broken down in traffic.

A Douglasville man is in jail, charged with abandoning his 5-year-old stepson in a car parked on a busy street earlier this month. The man, identified as Ashton Frierson, 23, was found intoxicated and incoherent at his home after the incident, Douglasville Police shared on Facebook.
Police told Fox 5 several witnesses saw the 5-year-old boy around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 11 alone in the back seat of a hot car parked in a lane on Timber Mill Ridge Road in Douglasville. The car, which had all the windows rolled up, apparently had broken down.
Douglasville Police Capt. J.R. Davidson said the boy was rescued by witnesses, who called 911. He is safe with his mother.

Frierson is being held in the Douglas County jail without bond. He is charged with felony cruely to children and reckless conduct.
