Douglasville Men Arrested In FBI Heroin, Cocaine Sting
The FBI says the men were part of a multi-state drug trafficking operation selling drugs in Ohio.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Two Douglasville men were among 39 people arrested by FBI agents in what authorities say was a bust of two major, interstate operations trafficking heroin, cocaine and other drugs.
Kevin Burton, 41, and Brian Nowell, 44, were arrested by FBI agents early Wednesday morning on federal drug trafficking charges.
In all, federal officials say 39 people were arrested and are accused of being part of one of two groups dealing drugs largely out of Ohio. Burton and Nowell are accused of being part of a group that trafficked heroin, cocaine and marijuana from suppliers in Columbus, Ohio, and California to Mansfield, Ohio, and Louisville, Kentucky.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office in northern Ohio, Burton would obtain large amounts of cocaine and heroin from suppliers, then sell it to drug dealers. He also cooked some of it into crack cocaine, the office said in a news release. (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. "These groups brought heroin into Mansfield from out of state, sold it from houses in neighborhoods with families and used firearms to protect their operations," said Justin Herdman, the U.S. Attorney in Ohio. "Law enforcement did a tremendous job in dismantling these organizations."
Burton and Nowell were scheduled to appear before a U.S. magistrate judge in Atlanta Wednesday afternoon, according to the FBI field office in Atlanta.
