Douglasville Rolls Out New Website

"We want each site visitor to find what they are looking for in as few clicks as possible," the city's webmaster said.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The city of Douglasville has launched a new website, designed to help citizens, and other visitors, get the information they need with a single click.

The site, now online at www.douglasvillega.gov, features a completely refreshed look, global navigation "mega menus," quick-link graphics, three new department sub-sites and a responsive platform for mobile devices.

The new site has more than 580 pages of information, the city said in a news release.

The City of Douglasville's communications department has worked on the website redesign for the past several months.

"We want each site visitor to find what they are looking for in as few clicks as possible," said Chris Dixon, the city's webmaster.

The website's launch is the first phase of an overall citizen-engagement project by the city.

A second phase, which includes an employee intranet portal, is under way and the third phase, which will include the creation of an online-payments module is in the planning stages, with planned launch in the 2018 fiscal year.

"This redesigned site with new features makes it a valuable tool for citizens to keep informed of local

government actions, events, and news stories ...," city spokeswoman Kellie Hunter said. "We want this site to be an everyday tool citizens can use to stay informed and engaged with their local government."
