Georgia Singer Lands In Top 5 Of 'American Idol'

The Christian singer moves on to perform at 8 p.m. Sunday on ABC.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A soulful tribute and a duet with a fellow "American Idol" contestant landed Douglasville singer Megan Danielle in the T.V. competition's Top 5 Sunday.

"Top 5, BABY!!!! This is so cool! Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart!!!! God bless. #MeganOnIdol #MeganDanielle #Top5," Danielle posted to her Facebook account.

The Christian singer took on Grammy winner Alanis Morissette's "Head Over Feet," which TV Insider said was a tribute to the 20-year-old singer's boyfriend.

She then paired up with Mississippi-native Colin Stough for Grammy winner Ed Sheeran's "Dive." Stough also made the Top 5.

Both Morissette and Sheeran were guest judges for the night as regulars Katy Perry and Lionel Richie were in the United Kingdom, performing for King Charles III's coronation concert, TV Insider reported.

Danielle made headlines in mid-February, when she was surprised with a visit from gospel artist Lauren Daigle during her "American Idol" audition. The two performed Daigle's "You Say." The judges were also shocked by Daigle's guest appearance.

"I feel like this is not even happening," Danielle said. "Thank you, God."

The next episode of "American Idol" airs at 8 p.m. Sunday on ABC.
