Edward Lee Powell, age 69, formerly of Douglasville

Edward Lee Powell, age 69 of Carrollton, formerly of Douglasville,  passed away, July 14, 2014.  He was born May 31, 1945 in Atlanta, to the late Charlie A. Powell and the late Alma Mae Holloway Powell. He retired with 30 years service from Owens Corning as a line foreman. He attended the Southern Hills Christian Church of Carrollton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Willoughby Powell, four sisters and two brothers.

Survivors are his daughters and son-in-law: Denise and Michael Kuzy, Teresa Pirkle, Sherri Giles; sons: Bobby Powell and Eric Giles; 11 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brenda Lyons officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens with the grandsons serving as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends, Friday, July 18, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
