Ah, my in laws left early this morning headed back to New Jersey after a stay with us in Georgia. They booked an early flight out of Atlanta-Hartsfield Airport. On the way back from dropping them at the airport, I decided to have a nice breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I love eating at Cracker Barrel. While waiting or done eating I mosey around the old country store and smell the candles, sample the lotions.
My waitress helped me find the best deal on my two scrambled egg breakfast so as not to get the southern grits. I told her don’t bring any grits near my eggs and bacon. She laughed when I told her she can eat my grits.Celestine was so sweet! I never got to the bottom of the coffee cup.She just kept coming by and filling the cup to the tippity top. Truly as I write this blog post, know that I am highly caffeinated.Breakfast was so good!

As usual I had to take a picture and report to my Facebook friends how I got to treat myself to breakfast. When I had finished my meal, I began my search starting at the huge fireplace.I love all the antiques and replicas stuck here and there at Cracker Barrel. Photos, documents, advertisements from the past, hang everywhere in the restaurant/store. An old water pump, license plates,non-power tools and baking equipment are scattered around in a comfortable fashion.
As I began looking at the collectibles there on the side of the unlit fireplace, was a photo and the dedication of one of Douglasville’s finest, Deputy Haven Blake Gammill. Someone wants to be sure Deputy Gammill is remembered. A great honor for a great man! He was killed while on duty. The Deputy left two beautiful daughters. I decided to get a clear photo of the framed memorial so I pulled it from the back sidelines and brought it into clearer view for all to read and there I left that beautiful memorial sit there front and center on the hearth.
