Members compete in Club-level Speech Contest; Toastmasters talk about the joys and benefits of membership

ATLANTA, GEORGIA, February 1, 2018 — As part of their two-month membership building campaign, the Epic Orators Advanced Toastmasters will hold its 2018 Table Topics Speech contest on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Wolf Creek Branch Library in Atlanta GA. Contestants compete to test their critical thinking and their speaking skill. The first-place winner will represent the club at the upcoming area level, and potentially the division and district contests.
Toastmasters speech contests provide an opportunity for speakers to improve their speaking abilities and to recognize the best as encouragement to all. This special event also provides the audience an opportunity to learn by observing the more proficient speakers who have benefited from their Toastmasters training.
“Epic Orators Advanced Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to overcome their fear of public speaking and sharpen presentation skills,” says Distinguished Toastmaster Sheila Davis-Wiley, club Vice President for Education. “Other benefits include the opportunity to increase one’s confidence, build critical thinking skills and become an effective listener,” says Distinguished Toastmaster Davis-Wiley.
