Like 'Fast and Furious,' Car Thieves Break Into 40 Cars, Lead Police on Chase
Douglasville PD arrested a teenager and are looking for others after early Thursday Thefts.

Alleged car thieves from Atlanta took Douglasville Police on a five-car chase early Thursday morning.
Police said on Facebook that one teenager has been arrested and investigators are looking for the others after seven people in two stolen cars came into Douglasville and broke into around 40 cars in the Lee Road/Thornton Road.
They stole three other cars before being spotted and were chased by police.

From Douglasville PD: The chase went west to Fairburn Rd and then back east towards Atlanta. Three vehicles escaped and were later recovered abandoned in West End Atlanta. Two vehicles were immobilized by officers, which led to the suspects fleeing into the woods.
WSB-TV reported police responded to the Brodick Hill Apartments around 3 a.m. Thursday on a call concerning car break-ins.

Douglasville PD Chief Chris Womack told WSB-TV the incident was “something like out of ‘Fast and Furious.’”
Womack said the 15-year-old arrest told police he didn’t think police would chase them for stealing cars. “He’s gotten some bad information,” the chief told the TV station.
Police posted on Facebook that citizens should be careful to lock their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables inside.
“Do not leave valuables or keys in your vehicles...each theft only takes seconds,” the post stated.
