Shooting for the upcoming movie “The Founder is scheduled to begin Thursday in Douglasville.
The movie starring Michael Keaton in the story of McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc will film scenes in the area Thursday and Friday this week.

More shooting days are scheduled later, and all are expected to impact traffic in the downtown area.
Main Street Douglas posted on Facebook that filming for “The Founder” will close roads in the Church Street area on the days of filming. The set is expected to be closed.

REMINDER: As most of you have heard and seen, we will have a movie filming in our historic downtown area during the months of June and July. During the following dates, please be aware that Church Street will be affected during this time:
June 11th, June 12th, June 25th, and July 10th
On the days they are shooting, the following streets will be closed: Church Street between Price Avenue and Club Drive, East Courthouse Square and West Courthouse Square. Bowden Street will be closed between spring and Church Street. The parking deck will be accessed from the Spring Street entrance/exit. Broad Street will not be impacted by the production. Your patience during this exciting time is appreciated.

An old-style McDonald’s set, with golden arches, has been constructed for the film.
