Update: Fire at Historic Douglas County Building Ruled Arson
Blaze broke out around 2 a.m. at the Flint Hill Masonic Lodge

Douglas County Fire Department Investigators have determined there is enough uncovered evidence to rule that the Friday morning, Aug. 29, fire that destroyed the Flint Hill Masonic Lodge was the result of arson.

The investigation is ongoing but the fire scene is now considered a crime scene, and a multi-agency investigation will continue that involves the Douglas County Fire Department; Douglas County Sheriff’s Department; the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office; and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).
A $10,000 reward is being offered for information towards the arrest and conviction of person or persons responsible for the arson. Any person with information is encouraged to call Douglas County 911 to be connected to investigators with the Douglas County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department.

Fire investigators are looking into what caused an early morning fire that destroyed an historic building in south Douglas County.
No one was injured in the fire.
A county spokesman told WXIA-TV a fire broke out around 2 a.m. at the Flint Hill Masonic Lodge. The fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived.
The building is located near the Bill Arp Road/Duncan Memorial Highway intersection.
