ATLANTA, GA — The most up-to-date forecast for Labor Day offers some good news if you're heading out and about on Labor Day in metro Atlanta.

There are some showers and thunderstorms in the forecast this coming week, but it looks like they're going to hold off long enough to let us all enjoy our days off on Monday. Labor Day's forecast is for sunny skies, with high temperatures getting up into the upper-80s.

Tuesday and Wednesday, the National Weather Service says, there will be a chance of rain both days. But skies are supposed to clear up again by the end of the week, with no rain forecast for Thursday or Friday.

Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a high near 75. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Thursday night, mostly clear, with a low around 57.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 79. Clear Friday night, with a low around 59.
