Jail Nurse Arrested For Illegal Contact With Inmate

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A former nurse at the Douglas County Jail has been arrested on multiple counts involving inappropriate contact with an inmate.

Alisha Morgan, 35, was arrested Tuesday. She had been working under a contract with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

She is being held without bond on charges including conspiracy to commit a felony, participation in criminal gang activity, attempt or conspiracy to violate the Georgia controlled substance act, illegal use of communications facilities and possession of items prohibited for possession by inmates.

At least one additional charge is pending, the sheriff's office said Friday in a news release.
