Jan 15 Last Day For Douglas County Pet Adoption Discounts
The Douglas County Animal Shelter adoption prices will increase Jan. 15, the organization announced Wednesday.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA - The Douglas County Animal Shelter adoption prices will increase Jan. 15, the organization announced Wednesday, to help cover the cost of the spay/neuter surgeries. Dogs are $100 and cats are $35.
The Douglas County Animal Shelter made a Facebook post last week that the shelter is overstocked on dogs and cats.
"We hit a new record," reads the post. "We have 50 dogs (and 32 cats) available for adoption in the shelter right now. We need your help! Please come visit the animals anytime we're open and maybe take one home with you!

"We've gotten many returns from Christmas - dogs who were shown a better life and then returned when things got a little hectic. Help us get these awesome dogs into awesome homes!"

Intakes: 36 dogs, 15 cats
Adopted: (dogs) Mouse, Gail, Eve, Kwanza, Pink Toes, Mia, Bingo, Thor, Mickey (cats) Starkist, Demona, Little Kitty, Kitty, sabrina, Yancey, Pound Cake, Harley
Rescued: (dogs) Michelle, Valeria, Tooth, Molly, Paulie, Dobbie, Jane Doe, Elizabeth, Kelli (and three puppies)
Returned to Owner: (dogs) Freya, Dumbo, Tara, Phil

If you have a lost animal: Call or email the shelter to file a lost report.
If you have a found animal: Call the shelter. The shelter can send an officer out to retrieve it or file a found report for you.
Microchip your pet. The shelter implants microchips anytime they are open for $20. If your animal ever comes into the shelter, the shelter will then call you. https://www.facebook.com/groups/DoCoLostFoundAnimals/
