Jeannette Elouise Shurley, 59, Dies
Per her wishes, she will be cremated following the visitation and a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, at noon at Chapel Hill Road Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Shirley officiating.

Jeannette Elouise Shurley, 59 of Douglasville, passed away Friday, Sept. 20. She was born Jan. 8, 1954 in Atlanta. She was a loving homemaker who doted on family and friends. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and was a member of Chapel Hill Road Baptist Church. Her dream and prayers following her diagnosis with cancer was to live to see her first grandchild born. Her prayers were answered as she held her grandson, Ryland following his birth on Sept. 1, 2013.
Mrs. Shurley was preceded in death by her father, Edward Glasco; mother, Evie Payne Orr; sisters, Evelyn Adams, Jackie Clifton and Carol Ferguson; and a brother, Herbert Caldwell.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Floyd ‘Butch’ Shurley of Douglasville, GA; son, Lee Shurley and wife Christina of Waveland, MS; grandson, Ryland Townes Shurley; brothers, Edward Glasco and wife Yvonne of Waleska, GA, Randy Glasco of Douglasville, GA, Terry Glasco and wife Pam of Villa Rica, GA; sisters, Marlene Brown of Douglasville, GA, Linda Eisenburg and husband Ike of Douglasville; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Sept. 22, from 5 until 8 p.m. Per her wishes, she will be cremated following the visitation and a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, at noon at Chapel Hill Road Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Shirley officiating.
