Jessie Irene Rudisill, 97, Dies

Jessie Irene Rudisill, 97 of Douglasville, passed away Friday, Nov. 15. She was born June 29, 1916 in Stratton Township, IL, daughter of the late Frank Abraham and Anna Mae O’Donald Fulton. Jessie owned and operated the Artistic Beauty Salon in the Pines in Decatur, IL. for 20 years and was a member of the Who’s Who of American Business Women. She retired at the age of 68 and enjoyed traveling.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rudisill was preceded in death by two husbands, Daniel Francis Perisho whom she married on Dec. 31, 1937 in Paris, IL., and William Burrows Rudisill whom she married on June 23, 1944 in Decatur, IL.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann Irwin and husband Thomas, and Billie Howell and husband Kent of Decatur, IL; sons, William B. Rudisill II and wife Jan of Bedford, VA, and Franklin Arthur Rudisill and wife Terry of Douglasville, GA; 14 grandchildren, Timothy Irwin, Sallee Taylor and husband Michael, Daniel Irwin and wife Karen, Adam Howell and wife Donna, Nathan Howell and wife Heather, Andrea Hicks and husband Ulysses, William Rudisill, Anthony Rudisill, Bryce Rudisill, Mandy Espinoza and husband Chris, Josh Rudisill, Jessica Rudisill and Miranda Rudisill; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 18, from 5 until 8 p.m., and at Central Baptist Church on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. until noon. The funeral service will follow at noon with Reverend Steve McFall and Reverend Charles Gibbs officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Graceland-Fairlawn Cemetery in Decatur, IL.
