Joe Harold Derrick Sr., 75

Joe Harold Derrick, Sr., age 75 of Douglasville, passed away,Tuesday, December 30, 2014. He was born March 9, 1939 in Fulton Co. to the late Harold Rudolph Derrick and Katherine Mae Walker Derrick. He worked for 25 years as an electrician for Six Flags Over GA, was well known and appreciated for volunteering with Meals on Wheels for 10 years and was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ, Hwy Five, Douglasville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Tammy Derrick and brothers, Aubrey Derrick and Herman Derrick.

Survivors are his loving wife of 57 years, Glenda Fay Holden Derrick, of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law: Joe Harold Derrick, Jr., and wife, Judy, of Douglasville; daughters and sons-in-law: Connie Fay and Charles Campbell of Bremen, and Sherry Lynn and Keith Vaughan of Lawrenceville; brother: Phillip Lee Derrick of Duluth; grandchildren and their spouses: Susan & Perron Dyer, Karen and Steven Stephens, Joey and Crystal Derrick III, Brian Vaughan, Dana and Gavin Davidson, Lisa Vaughan, Brandon Jett, six great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and numerous in-laws and extended family members.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11:00 AMfrom Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, College Park at 2PM.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 3-8 PM at the funeral home.
