Larry Edwin Lambert, 70, Douglas Sheriff's Office Veteran

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 6; funeral service is Thursday.

Larry Edwin Lambert, age 70 of Winston, passed away, Sunday, August 3, 2014. He was born September 7, 1943 in Villa Rica to the late Glenn Lambert and the late Alline Payne Lambert. He was a graduate of West Georgia, retired after thirty plus years with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, having served under three sheriff’s as a Deputy, Detective, Chief Jailor, Major and Captain. He was owner and operator of Lambert Stables and Country Lane Kennels. He helped to found the Chattahoochee Schulzhund Club and was a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Lambert and granddaughter, Delena Weathers.

Survivors are his wife, Elaine Reding Lambert of Winston, daughters and sons-in-law: Lori & Tommy Jones, Darlene and Kurt Collom, Melissa and Randy Doss, son and daughter-in-law: Johnny and Meredith Mitchell; daughters and son-in-law; Barbie Mitchell and Debbie and Glenn Scott; sister and brother-in-law: Jackie and Joel Strawn; sister-in-law: Ann Lambert; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 3:00 PM from Ephesus Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Godwin, Rev. Laura Parker and Dr. Joel Strawn officiating. Interment will follow in the Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery with Tommy Jones, Johnny Mitchell, Randy Doss, Curt Collom, Micheal Mitchell, David Strawn, Michael House and Jerome Luke serving as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
