Live Healthy Douglas Coalition Invites Public to Inaugural 'Infosnacks' Town Hall Meeting

Live Healthy Douglas partnership serves up some tips for healthy habits Tuesday night, May 3

On the evening of May 3, 2016, the Live Healthy Douglas (LHD) Partnership will host their first community health town hall meeting in a series titled Live Healthy Douglas Presents: Infosnacks. Live Healthy Douglas has partnered with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas County School System for the first community discussion. The Infosnacks events are designed to engage parents and to share information about issues impacting the youth and children of Douglas County through interactive presentations and dialogue.

Sgt. Jesse Hambrick of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will present on the dangers of smartphone use among teens and young adults, offering prevention tips to parents and students on how to avoid dangerous and illegal mobile device activity. Director of School Nutrition at Douglas County School System (DCSS), Emily Hanlin, MBA, RDN, LD, will present on some of the ways DCSS is combating childhood obesity through proper nutrition and physical activity throughout the school day. She will also offer tips on how families can continue to establish and use these healthy habits at home.
