Local Family on Family Feud Tuesday

Douglasville resident Kimberly Lawson and her family are feuding. But it's a good thing. They could win $10,000 dollars and a new car by doing it. But you'll have to tune into WUPA Tuesday night at 7 p.m. to find out.

You may have guessed Kimberly and her family will be on the television game show Family Feud. But you'll have to tune in with the rest of us to find out if they won because they're not telling.

"I can say we had a fantastic time though," she said. "The cast of Family Feud really makes you feel like having fun. They made us feel like it's more important than winning or losing to get out there and have fun with your family."

Kimberly was joined by her husband Bryant and her three 2nd cousins Tanisha Josey, Leslie Bennett and Veronica Johnson. Kimberly, who has lived in Douglasville for 10 years, said her husband retired from the Army Reserve on June 2, a day before the taping of the show. He retired after 23 years of time in both the Navy and the Army Reserve.

Auditions were held in Atlanta and the family was asked to come back for an on-stage audition. Once the on-stage fun began the family got to meet the show's host, Steve Harvey.

"Steve was definitely funny," Kimberly said. "He kept us laughing the whole time. Once he found out we were from his hometown (Cleveland, Ohio) he just went crazy.

"It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," she said. 'It was exhilarating for us to be on our favorite show."
