DOUGLASVILLE, GA—Police now say a recent shooting at the Best Buy in Douglasville was merely a distraction so two men could steal merchandise from the store.

"These suspects put customers, employees, and responding law enforcement in extreme danger by creating an active shooter panic in order to commit a shoplifting," Douglasville police said in a social media post.

According to police, once inside the store, the two men picked up a drone and a laptop before opening fire. They then fled the store, with the items in hand, along with everyone else.
