Man Charged In Woman's Death In Douglasville: Police

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A man is being charged after police said a 28-year-old woman was found unconscious Wednesday in the 6000 block of Fieldstone Drive and later died.

According to the Douglasville Police Department, the woman who died has been identified as Timisha Ladawn Turner. Officers were responding to a welfare check/medical call when they found her, police said.

Officers performed CPR on her until an ambulance arrived; Turner later died at the hospital, police said.

Officers were told by physicians that "they felt her death was caused by suspicious circumstances," police said.

The manner of death was not released.

Jamie Morel, 33, is being charged on suspicion of felony murder, aggravated assault and simple battery (Family Violence Act) in connection with the case, police said. Morel is in the Douglas County Jail, police said.
