FoxAtlanta reported the woman was tending to her flower garden at her first-floor apartment when the man came over the rail, grabbed her by the throat and demanded money.

He was arrested a short time later at a nearby convenience store, the TV station reported.

Police said Bohannon was a former tenant of the apartment complex who had left about two years ago. A neighbor told FoxAtlanta Bohannon had knocked on her door previously acting as if he was selling books; she got suspicious, grabbed a knife and told him to leave.

Police said Bohannon stole about $35 from the woman.
