Submitted by Douglas County Animal Shelter
The Douglas County Animal Shelter has numerous dogs and cats for adoption every day! Each of our honored Pets of the Week when adopted get free spaying or neutering sponsored by Douglas County Animal Control, a new benefit of our Pets of the Week promotion. Here are two that are highlighted for this week.
The Cat of the Week is Silkie (#12379). Silkie is a big, beautiful, blue domestic long hair cat. Her favorite pastime is rubbing up against her kitty kennel bars. I am sure she’d find a much more pleasant hobby in a loving, forever home! She requests that her adopter have a nice, warm lap upon which she can perch. Come by the shelter and see this amazing cat.

The Dog of the Week is Ella (#12375). She is a medium-sized golden Chow/Labrador Retriever mix with a wonderful personality. She is heartworm negative and current on her rabies, Bordatella and Distemper-Parvo vaccinations and comes with a microchip. Ella is one super nice dog. She’s friendly, playful and full of life and love. Pick Ella and you’ve picked a winner.
These and many other animals are available for adoption Tuesday - Sunday afternoons at the Douglas County Animal Shelter located at 1755 County Services Road adjacent to the Cedar Mountain Landfill. All adoptable pets can be viewed on www.petfinder.com.
