Frances Lucile Pope Pawley, age 77, of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was born in Polk County, Georgia on November 4, 1937, the daughter of the late Ernest Terry Pope and the late Emma Edna Williams Pope. She was a loving wife and mother who loved her family and was a member of Utopia Missionary Baptist Church in Villa Rica.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Milton Clayton Pawley, Sr. of Douglasville; children and their spouses: Cathy and Wesley Jones of Mableton, Bonnie Whitten of Fruithurst, Alabama, Clay and Sandra Pawley of Carrollton, Mark and Temolin Pawley of Temple, and Darrell and Tracey Pawley of Carrollton; brothers: Paul Pope of Cedartown and Charles Pope of Aragon; grandchildren and their spouses: Amanda and Carl Akery, Chris Jones, Melanie and Blake Hyde, Jennifer and Robert Murphy, Ricky Whitten, Jeremy Pawley, Lydia and Adam Teal, Kimberly and Jamie Willis, Matthew and Andrea Pawley, April and Brian Preston, and Amy and Michael Collins; Sixteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Utopia Missionary Baptist Church in Villa Rica with Pastor Clay Pawley officiating. Music will be rendered by Lydia Teal and Robert Murphy. Mrs. Pawley will lie-in-state from 1:00 P.M.until the funeral hour.

Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Jeremy Pawley, Chris Jones, Ricky Whitten, Matthew Pawley, Carl Akery, and Jamie Willis serving as Pallbearers.
