In Memory: Lamar David Long, 82, U.S. Army Vet

Mr. Lamar David Long age 82 of Mableton passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Mr. Long was a Veteran of the United States Army, a resident of Mableton for the past 55 years, an American Legion member for 46 years, worked for Georgia Power Company for 32 years, and was a member of the Douglasville Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Long was preceded in death by his sons David Richard Long and Michael Wayne Long.

Survivors include his wife Virginia Bennett Long, his 2 surviving sons Kenneth Long of Marietta, Georgia and Ronnie Long of Mableton, Georgia, his brother Joel Long of Woodstock, nine(9) grandchildren and four(4) great-grandchildren.

Mr. Long’s family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Gene Davis - White Columns Chapel with Funeral Services 11:00 AM Friday in the chapel with Rev. Jeff Priest officiating. Interment to follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.
