Mildred Lucille “Millie” Thompson, age 96, of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015. She was born in Sylvania, Georgia on November 7, 1918, the daughter of the late William Dell West and the late Lucille Shepard (West) Dominey. She retired from Sear’s, having worked as a cashier and sales associate. She was a member of the Lithia Springs United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cleon Thompson; and her brother, Robert West.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Gann and her husband, Danny, of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph C. Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Douglasville; granddaughter, Angela Susan “Angie” Gann Thomas, and her husband, Joey; great grandchildren, Merigan Ansley Thomas and Colton Daniel Thomas; Nephew, Herbert Solberg of Grand Forks, ND; grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Douglasville City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 P.M.
