- A speeding motorcyclist caused a deadly crash in Douglas County, forcing Douglas County Sheriff’s patrol to block portions of S Burnt Hickory Rd. The crash occurred on Saturday night around 10:30 p.m. Both the motorcyclist, 22-year-old Daniel Cardenas, and the other driver, 53-year-old Robert Young, were killed in the crash. (WSB Atlanta)
- The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a gas station robber. The suspect walked into the Texaco on Fairburn Road in Douglasville and pulled two guns on the clerk. The man is described as being a heavyset man in a black ski mask, camouflage jacket, orange T-shirt, black pants, and brown boots. Anyone who recognizes the man is encouraged to contact the police. - There's no shortage of things to do in Douglas County Parks this season. Upcoming events include Family Camporee at Clinton Nature Preserve on Oct. 15 and Oct. 16, as well as the Fall Festival at Boundary Waters Activity Center on Oct. 27. - The Douglasville Convention and Visitors Bureau will be hosting a Stranger Things Block Party on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Portions of Downtown Douglasville will transform into Hawkins, Indiana. - The Douglasville Police Department is participating in the DEA Pill Take Back Day to help locals clean out medicine cabinets and safely dispose of medications.
