National Guard Vet Ivan Robert 'Mickey' White Jr., 70, Dies

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. from Hightower's Memorial Chapel in Douglasville with Pastor Jeff Childers officiating.

Ivan Robert “Mickey” White, Jr., 70 of Winston, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17. He was born on June 16, 1943 in Tulsa, OK., the son of the late Ivan Robert “Mike” White, Sr. and the late Helen Jewel Honeycutt White. He worked, until his retirement, as a Motor Transport Supervisor for the City of Atlanta. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, “the best daddy ever” to his girls, caring grandfather, brother and friend.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Helen Owen White of Winston; daughters and sons-in-law, Miranda Delane and Ernst Geisler of Cedartown, Helen Jewell and Randy Walters of Cumming, Michele Alene Brandenburg of Whitesburg and Celia Grace White of Winston; sister, Patricia Bishop;  grandchildren, David Camp, Benjamin Robert Dangar and Catherine, Jeremy Swofford and Jonathan Davis; step-grandchildren, Cliff Brandenburg, Tonya Hugyn and Kathaleen Ross Kopf; great grandchildren, Isabelle Marie Dangar, Benjamin Robert Dangar, Jr., Rose Marie Dangar, Garrett Hugyn, Morgan Ross Kopf, Allison Ross Kopf, Taylor Ross Kopf, Eason Hugyn and Claire Lynn Ross Kopf.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville with Pastor Jeff Childers officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Jonathan Davis, Benjamin Dangar, Jeremy Swofford, Scott Bishop, Randy Walters and Andy Wooten serving as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m.
