DOUGLASVILLE, GA — There were no injuries in a Thursday morning house fire in the 6200 block of Ellis Street, according to county fire officials.
Crews responded to the single-story house fire around 11:45 a.m., when they saw billows of smoke coming from the house, fire officials said.
All residents in the home were able to safely evacuate, fire officials said.

“We’re pleased the house had a working smoke detector, which could be heard blaring as firefighters first arrived on the scene,” Deputy Fire Chief of Operations Miles Allen said in a news release. “We’re thankful to the Douglasville Police Department for assisting with traffic control and thankful to the E-911 operators who handled the calls to dispatch us.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
