Photo Exhibit To Return To Douglasville Arts Council Gallery

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — An upcoming photography exhibit will give Douglasville residents the chance to experience the point of views of local artists.

The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County will host the Local Lenses Photography Exhibit from Oct. 1-Nov. 20, the CAC said Tuesday.

The free event will include a reception and awards ceremony, which will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5. True Amor Catering will sponsor the event, organizers said.

CAC members submitted multiple works for consideration, with each artist allowed to enter up to three photographs.

The CAC gallery committee selected the final group of pieces for the exhibit. Credentialled, experienced judges will anonymously assess the photographs and choose the winning entries, the CAC said.

Prizes will be given for first, second and third places, as well as honorable mention. The winner of the People's Choice Award will receive cash, the CAC said.

The show includes a range of photographic techniques and subjects, the CAC said.

Artists included in the exhibit will be Crystal Berry, Tim Cape, Dominique Chaponot, Ann Cockerill, Bill Cockerill, Darrell Colon, Nicolette Dunn, Emma Eady, Jerry Frost, Marjorie Frost, M. Gail Jones, Kim Grubb, Ernie Hendrix, Curtis Hertwig, Alexandra Huynh, Carl Jordan, Cathey Kuhn, Sheila Miller, Lori Mitchum, Kevin Mras, Lynne Muse, Janet Newton, Jody Pollock, Veena Raj, Desireee Reyes and Denise Riley.

The CAC's gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at 8652 Campbellton St. in downtown Douglasville.
