Police: Man Used Bogus Check to Buy $1,000 in Hardware Items

Douglasville PD is looking for a suspect captured by surveillance camera on Jan. 26.

Douglasville Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly used a fraudlent check to purchase more than $1,000 worth of items from a local hardware store.

The agency released surveillance images of the man taken at the Ace Hardware store in Douglasville on Jan. 26.

Police said the man purchased a Stihl saw and Stihl backpack blower with a check that returned from the bank as being fraudulent. The man also allegedly used a fake driver’s license number, name and date of birth during the purchase.
