Police: Suspects Sold Fake iPads this Christmas

Con scheme ended with strong armed robbery, according to Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is looking for other victims after identifying robbery suspects who are accused of selling fake iPads. They’re facing robbery charges after allegedly grabbing an apron with cash in the pocket at a salon Tuesday, according to Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

At 5:07 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the On Point Hair Salon at 560 Thornton Road in Lithia Springs.

The victim said that two men had entered the business claiming they were trying to sell overstock iPads at a discount. After the victim recognized the iPads were fake, one of the suspects, Christopher Cross, 35, allegedly grabbed the victim’s apron and ran out the door, then jumping into a vehicle.

With descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle, deputies arrested Cross and Larry Cunningham, 58. Both are charged with robbery and held at the Douglas County Adult Detention Center for Robbery with no bond.

Deputies believe the suspects have attempted to sell the fake iPads elsewhere in the west metro Atlanta area. Anyone with information in the case can contact Investigator Trent Wilson at 770-920-4907.
