Powder Springs Driver Identified In Hiram Fatal Crash

A Powder Springs man in a fatal Hiram crash that took place Monday morning has been identified.

HIRAM, GA — The Georgia State Highway Patrol has identified the driver who died in the crash as Timothy Starks, 48, of Powder Springs.

A Powder Springs man is dead and one man was injured after a truck crash at 8:07 a.m. Monday in front of WellStar Hospital in Hiram, according to Hiram Police.

A man in his late 40s was driving a pick up truck and killed when witnesses tell police he ran a red light while turning onto Hwy 278 from Bill Carruth Parkway. The man, who is unidentified, was hit by a tractor trailer. Police say the deceased was not wearing a seatbelt.

The truck driver, from North Carolina, had minor injuries and did not go to the hospital.
