Puppy Found Dead, 18 Dogs Rescued From Douglas Co. Home: Report

Two people are being charged after a puppy starved to death and 18 dogs lived among feces and urine in Douglas County, a media report says.

WINSTON, GA — A puppy was found dead from starvation, and 18 dogs were discovered, in a Douglas County home where urine and feces were present, WAGA-TV reported Friday.

Two people are reportedly facing more than a dozen charges in connection with the recent case.

Local animal control officers found the 5-month-old puppy dead inside the Winston home, along with a French bulldog who lost an eye, the news outlet reported.

Renter Jennifer Caneup was arrested in Tennessee, where she reportedly operated an animal rescue. Additionally, WAGA-TV reported Joshua Caneup was arrested at the scene.

The duo reportedly faced two counts of aggravated animal cruelty and 16 counts of animal cruelty.
