Reece Donald Ridgway, 82, Dies

Reece Donald Ridgway, 82 of Carrollton, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013. He was born April 14, 1931 in Crossville, AL., the son of the late Reece Ridgway and the late Beulah Morrison Ridgway.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister. He was retired from the Florida Baptist Convention, where he served as a property manager. He was a very godly man, having served for 20 years as general contractor with Campers on Missions. In those years of volunteering, he helped to construct or renovate 32 churches.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sarah Juanita Banister Ridgway; children: Ric & Barbara Ridgway of Ocala, Florida, Donita Ridgway Hyer of Carrollton, Ann & John Shore, also of Carrollton, Rev. Tim & Jan Ridgway of Austell, and Beth & David Northcutt of Palm Harbor, Florida; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, Dec. 13, from Martin & Hi ghtower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Tim Ridgway officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs.
