Reflection, Figaro are County's Pets of the Week

Each week, the Douglas County Animal Shelter highlights a cat and a dog as the “Pets of the Week.” All animals at the Shelter are looking for loving and permanent homes, and it is hoped that the “Pets of the Week” highlight will help bring attention to all of the animals currently housed at the Douglas County Animal Shelter.

Reflection #8435 is a female adult shepherd-mix dog, and is appropriately named. This quiet, sweet dog seems to be deep in thought and is eager to go home with a kind, loving family.

Figaro #8384 is an adult male domestic medium hair cat.  A very sweet kitty, he would make a great lap cat!

There are currently 99 cats and 67 dogs at the Shelter. Some of the animals have already been spayed or neutered. All adoptable animals are listed on www.petfinder.com.

Cats available for adoption include domestic short hair, domestic medium hair and domestic long hair varieties, as well as two Russian blue kittens.  Most of the cats are very sweet, get along with other cats, and are litter box trained.

Dogs include pit bulls, pit bull mixes, Shepherd mixes, a purebred German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever mixes, Australian Shepherd mixes, Chihuahua mixes, Shih Tzu, Poodle mixes, Shar Pei mixes, Terrier mixes, Pug mixes and more.  Many of the dogs know simple commands, are very loving, seem to get along well with other dogs and somewhat house-trained.
