Road Race To Benefit Douglas County Preschool

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — An upcoming road race will help a local preschool with a gym upgrade in Douglas County, school officials said Tuesday.

The Dayspring Road Race will start at 3 p.m., Nov. 14, with a 5K at Central Baptist Church, according to the Douglas County School System. A 1-mile run will follow at 4 p.m.

The event will include a dinner, which will be served starting at 3:30 p.m. Meal tickets are $8.

Proceeds will benefit a gymnasium upgrade for LEAP Preschool, which is DCSS' special education preschool program. Participants will be given long-sleeved T-shirts, organizers said.

A phantom option is available for anyone unable to attend the event but would still like to support.

Awards will be given to the overall female and male winners of the 5K, overall male and female masters and the top three male and female finishers in 15 age groups, organizers said.

For the 1-mile race, the top 10 boys and top 10 girls will be awarded.
