A Near Club Standard Flower Show is one in which multiple garden clubs sponsor and participate. The Staging Award recognizes how the Show was presented, including its color scheme, tables, continuity of theme, and overall appearance. The Flower Show Schedule is an extensive 40-page booklet that outlines all of the requirements to be a part of the Show, identifies the entry categories, and defines the rules.

This is the 7th year in a row that the Standard Flower Show of the Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival has won its category in the State of Georgia, and the Show has received the staging and schedule awards multiple times. The award selection is based on notes and comments made by Flower Show judges (non-local) during and after the show, and the submittal of staging and schedule information to the Garden Clubs of Georgia, Inc.

A Standard Flower Show consists of a Horticulture Division (flowers and plants), Design Division (table designs with floral arrangements), Youth Division (dried flower arrangements), Educational Exhibits, and Artistic Crafts. Anyone can enter the Show at no cost. The Ruby Slippers Show included 437 Horticulture entries, 24 Design entries, 32 Youth entries, 3 Educational exhibits, and 12 Artistic Crafts featuring decorated Witch’s Hats, Tin Men, and Hot Air Balloons.
